Pelu Taele is a New Zealand-born singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his work with the band The Black Seeds, which he co-founded in 1998. He has also released two solo albums, "The Pelu Taele Project" (2009) and "The Pelu Taele Experience" (2012). Taele was born in Dunedin, New Zealand, and grew up in the nearby town of Mosgiel. He began playing music at an early age, learning the guitar and drums. He attended the University of Otago, where he studied music and composition. In 1998, Taele co-founded the band The Black Seeds, which has since become one of the most successful reggae bands in New Zealand. The band has released six studio albums, and has toured extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and the United States. In 2009, Taele released his debut solo album, "The Pelu Taele Project". The album featured a mix of reggae, soul, and funk, and was well-received by critics. In 2012, he released his second solo album, "The Pelu Taele Experience". Taele is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand. He continues to tour and perform with The Black Seeds, and is also working on new solo material.
