Nick Bollettieri is an American tennis coach and instructor who has been credited with revolutionizing the modern game of tennis. He is the founder of the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, which has produced some of the world's top players, including Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Monica Seles, and Maria Sharapova. Bollettieri was born on July 31, 1931 in Pelham, New York. He attended the University of Miami, where he earned a degree in physical education. After college, he began teaching tennis at a local club in Florida. He quickly gained a reputation as a top instructor and was soon hired by the International Tennis Hall of Fame to teach at their summer camp. In 1978, Bollettieri opened the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
