Blaisdell began his career in the 1950s, appearing in small roles in television shows such as The Phil Silvers Show and The Twilight Zone. He made his film debut in the 1964 film The Pawnbroker. He went on to appear in numerous films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including The Godfather Part II, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, The Warriors, and The Cotton Club. Blaisdell has also appeared in numerous television shows, including Law & Order, NYPD Blue, and The Sopranos. He has also appeared in the video game Grand Theft Auto IV.
