Aldrich was born in Skowhegan, Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine in 1985 with a degree in theater. He began his acting career in the late 1980s, appearing in several off-Broadway productions. He made his film debut in the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans, and went on to appear in films such as The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Majestic. In television, Aldrich has appeared in series such as The X-Files, Law & Order, NYPD Blue, and The West Wing. He has also appeared in several made-for-TV movies, including The Christmas Secret (2000) and The Christmas Card (2006). Aldrich is married to actress and producer Jennifer Aldrich, with whom he has two children. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
