Mignon Anderson was an American film actress who was active in the silent era of the 1920s. She was born on March 31, 1892 in Baltimore, Maryland. She began her career in the theater, appearing in productions in New York City and on the road. She made her film debut in the 1921 drama The Great Adventure. She went on to appear in over a dozen films, including The Ten Commandments (1923), The Iron Horse (1924), and The Big Parade (1925). Anderson was married to actor and director Robert Thornby, with whom she had two children. She retired from acting in the late 1920s and died in Los Angeles, California on April 28, 1972. Her mother, Hallie Howard, was also a former vaudeville performer. Mignon got her show-business start at a very early age--at six months old she appeared in a stage production as the infant daughter of the leading lady. She grew into quite a beautiful young woman, and easily found work as an artists' model.
