Mattia Nalesso is an Italian swimmer who was born on 13 February, 1981 in Italy. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a silver medal in the 200m freestyle at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and a bronze medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Nalesso has also won multiple medals at the European Championships, World Championships, and World Cup events. He is a four-time European champion, having won gold medals in the 200m freestyle in 2002 and 2006, and in the 4x200m freestyle relay in 2002 and 2006. He has also won two silver medals in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the World Championships in 2003 and 2005. Nalesso is currently the head coach of the Italian National Swimming Team. He is married and has two children.
