Mary Blair was an American artist and animator who worked for Walt Disney Studios. She was best known for her work on the classic films Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan. She was also responsible for the iconic look of the "It's a Small World" attraction at Disneyland. Blair was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, and studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. She began her career at Walt Disney Studios in 1940, and worked on a number of classic films, including Dumbo, Bambi, and Saludos Amigos. She was also responsible for the concept art for the "It's a Small World" attraction at Disneyland. Blair was inducted into the Disney Legends in 1991, and her work was honored with a posthumous Winsor McCay Award in 1998. She passed away in 1978 at the age of 66.
