Marv Albert is an American sportscaster and television broadcaster. He is best known for his work as a play-by-play announcer for the NBA on NBC from 1990 to 2002. He is also known for his work on the NFL on CBS, the NFL on Fox, and the NHL on NBC. Albert was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 12, 1941. He attended New York University, where he earned a degree in radio and television. Albert began his broadcasting career in 1963, when he was hired by WNBC-TV in New York City. He worked as a sports anchor and reporter for the station until 1967. In 1968, he began working as a play-by-play announcer for the NBA's New York Knicks. He held this position until 1977, when he was hired by CBS Sports. Albert has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Sportscaster of the Year Award in 1992, 1993, and 1994. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1997. As of 2021, Marv Albert's net worth is estimated to be roughly $20 million.
