Louise Archambault is a Canadian director, writer, and cinematographer. She was born on 1 January, 1970 in Montréal, Québec, Canada. She is best known for her feature films Familia (2005), All That You Possess (2011), and Gabrielle (2013). Archambault studied at the Université du Québec à Montréal, where she earned a degree in film production. She has directed several short films, including La mécanique des femmes (1999), which won the Best Canadian Short Film Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Archambault's feature film debut, Familia, was released in 2005. The film was a critical and commercial success, and won several awards, including the Claude Jutra Award for Best Canadian Film at the 2006 Genie Awards. Her second feature film, All That You Possess, was released in 2011. Her third feature film, Gabrielle, was released in 2013. Archambault has also directed several television series, including Les Invincibles (2008), Les Parent (2009), and Unité 9 (2012). Screenwriter and director, Louise Archambault made her debut with the internationally acclaimed film Atomic Saké, winning many prizes such as the Jutra for Best Short Film. Her first feature film Familia gained many international sales and prizes such as Best Canadian First Feature Film at TIFF and received a Genie Award for a first film. In addition to directing episodes of the TV series La Galère (2013), Nouvelle Adresse (2014), broadcast on Radio-Canada, and This Life (2015), for CBC, Louise launched her 2nd film Gabrielle at the Locarno International Film Festival (Audience Award).
