Leon Max is a Russian-born fashion designer who has been designing clothing since the early 1980s. He is best known for his eponymous label, Leon Max, which he founded in 1989. His designs are known for their modern, sophisticated aesthetic and have been worn by celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Max was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and moved to the United States in 1979. He studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and began his career as a designer for the fashion house Halston. He then went on to design for other labels such as Calvin Klein and Donna Karan before launching his own label in 1989. Max's designs have been featured in numerous fashion magazines and have been worn by celebrities on the red carpet. He has also been featured in the documentary film The Tents, which chronicles the history of the New York fashion scene. Max currently lives in Los Angeles and continues to design for his eponymous label. He is married to fashion designer and stylist, Marla Weinhoff.

The interior design was done by Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill. In July 2011, a party was thrown at Easton Neston to celebrate the completion of its renovation. It was hosted by Richard Dennen, Mary Charteris and Josephine de La Baume.

Max was born in Leningrad, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg), in 1954. His parents were members of the Soviet intelligentsia. He then sought political asylum to Vienna on his way to Israel. He later enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He became a naturalized United States citizen in 1986, at which time he legally changed his name to Leon Max.
