Laura Handy is an American pair skater who was born on July 25, 1980 in the United States. She is currently 43 years old. Handy began skating at the age of seven and competed in singles until she was 13. She then switched to pairs and began competing with her partner, Justin Pecks. The pair won the bronze medal at the 1998 U.S. Championships and placed fourth at the 1999 World Junior Championships. Handy and Pecks competed together until 2002, when they split up. Handy then teamed up with John Baldwin and the pair competed in the 2003 U.S. Championships, placing fourth. They also competed in the 2004 World Championships, placing tenth. Handy retired from competitive skating in 2004 and is now a coach and choreographer. She is currently based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With partner Paul Binnebose, she is the 1999 U.S. senior national bronze medalist and 1999 World Junior silver medalist. Later that year, Binnebose suffered a skull fracture, and he never returned to competitive skating. Handy later competed with Jonathon Hunt and Jeremy Allen. Handy is now a coach.
