Timeline

2002

In 2002 Larry hung up his AD shoes for good; focusing full time on his photography both within and outside of the film-world. Having returned full circle to his photographic roots and with decades of experience working within the motion picture and television industry, Larry is sought after not only for his dynamic unit photography, but also for commissioned portrait and editorial assignments. Larry's work takes him to film sets across Europe and abroad; photographing the leading creatives, players and personalities within the industry. He is often commissioned to shoot special editorial and key art , in addition to Unit coverage on the films he works, providing material for a broad marketing and publicity platform. Shooting Unit, or on a special assignment, Larry's environmental portraits and documentary style, is what sets his photography apart from that of mainstream set photography. Within this realm Larry works to create mystery and provoke questions with his imagery. He compels the viewer to be drawn in. . . to want to know more.

1982

Currently based in Prague, Canadian born photographer, Larry Horricks began his professional photographic pursuits following the completion of his studies at California's highly regarded Brooks Institute of Photography, in 1982. Upon returning to Canada Larry began his career working as a contract photographer and correspondent for (what was at the time) the country's leading industry Magazine; Cinema Canada. It was during this tenure that Larry had an idea to gain a more practical understanding of the film industry and to photograph it from the inside. With this mind Larry embarked on the most unusual and demanding of dual careers working his way through a number of film departments, whilst still working as a magazine and editorial photographer. Within the film industry, Larry would eventually make his way to the position of 1stAD and a senior member of the Directors Guild of Canada.
