Ken Eklund is a game designer and game experience designer who has been creating interactive experiences since the early 1980s. He is best known for his work on the Alternate Reality Game (ARG) World Without Oil, which won numerous awards and was featured in the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. He has also designed and produced a variety of other interactive projects, including the award-winning game Cloudmakers, the interactive fiction game The Uncle Who Works for Nintendo, and the interactive documentary series The Lost Experience. Eklund has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences and events, including the Game Developers Conference, the International Digital Media and Arts Association, and the International Symposium on Electronic Art. He has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California, Los Angeles. Eklund is currently the Creative Director of the game studio Playmatics, where he is working on a variety of projects, including the upcoming game The Black Watchmen. He is also the co-founder of the game design collective, The Game Designers' Workshop.
