K. Krishnasamy is a 66-year-old Indian physician and politician who was born on 3 April 1954 in Udumalpet, India. He is the founder and president of the Puthiya Tamilagam (PT) political party. He is a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly representing the Udumalpet constituency. K. Krishnasamy completed his MBBS degree from Madras Medical College in 1979 and then went on to pursue a postgraduate degree in General Medicine from the same college. He has also served as a medical officer in the Indian Army. K. Krishnasamy has been actively involved in politics since the early 1990s. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in 1996 and has been re-elected in the subsequent elections. He has also served as the Minister for Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme in the Government of Tamil Nadu. K. Krishnasamy is married to Dr. K. Uma Krishnasamy and they have two children. He is an avid reader and enjoys playing chess in his free time.
