Julian Bugier is a French journalist and news anchor. He is currently the anchor of the 8pm news on TF1, the most watched news program in France. He is also the host of the weekly political talk show "C Politique" on the same channel.
Bugier was born on 26 October 1981 in Blois, France. He studied at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris and graduated with a degree in political science. He then went on to study journalism at the Centre de formation des journalistes in Paris.
Bugier began his career in journalism in 2004, working as a reporter for the French news channel LCI. He then moved to the news channel iTélé in 2006, where he worked as a reporter and anchor. In 2011, he joined the news channel BFMTV, where he worked as a reporter and anchor until 2014.
In 2014, Bugier joined the news channel TF1, where he currently works as the anchor of the 8pm news. He is also the host of the weekly political talk show "C Politique" on the same channel.

On 27 May 2015, at the entrance to the Pantheon with Pierre Brossolette, Geneviève de Gaulle-Anthonioz, Germaine Tillion and Jean Zay, he presented the special show on France 2 Quatre résistants au Panthéon with consultants at his side Stéphane Bern and Nathalie Saint-Cricq.
Julian Bugier presented, in addition to his work as a part-time substitute, news shows on the weekend between March and July 2015 because of the pregnancy of Marie Drucker.

His father Jacques Bugier was a literary man and former journalist. His father worked at La République du Centre then at le Monde from 1991 to 2008. Close to François Bayrou, (he followed Francois' presidential campaign in 2007) and to Jack Lang, he died in June 2013 at the age of 59 years.
