Jordan Tata is a former professional baseball player who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was born on September 20, 1981 in Plano, Texas. Tata attended Plano East Senior High School and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the third round of the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his major league debut on April 5, 2006, against the Kansas City Royals. Tata played in the minor leagues for the Tigers and Pirates organizations from 2000 to 2011. He was a member of the 2006 World Series champion Tigers. Tata retired from professional baseball in 2011. He currently works as a pitching coach for the Texas Rangers organization. Tata picked up his first big league win on July 30, 2007 while pitching in place of the injured Kenny Rogers. The Tigers beat the Oakland Athletics by a score of 5-2.
