John Wensink is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1975 to 1985. He was born on April 1, 1953 in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. Wensink was drafted in the third round, 44th overall, by the Boston Bruins in the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft. He played in the NHL for the Bruins, Colorado Rockies, Winnipeg Jets, and Edmonton Oilers. He was known for his physical style of play and his willingness to drop the gloves. Wensink retired from professional hockey in 1985 after playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Adirondack Red Wings. He finished his career with a total of 545 NHL games, scoring a total of 81 goals and adding 97 assists for 178 points. As of 2021, John Wensink's net worth is estimated to be roughly $1 million.

Wensink is best remembered for his time with the Boston Bruins, where he teamed with Terry O'Reilly and Stan Jonathan as the team's enforcers. On December 1, 1977, Wensink, after fighting Alex Pirus of the Minnesota North Stars, skated to the Minnesota bench and challenged the entire team, but no player responded. Wensink is also well-known for the large afro that he sported on the ice. In another scrap with Bob Kelly, Wensink and Kelly were pulling at each other's hair.
