In 1938 Hundley joined CBS Radio as an announcer. This led to various positions in programming and sales.


In 1932 he was signed by producer Courtney Burr for a Vernon Duke-E. Y. Harburg musical, "Walk a Little Faster," starring Beatrice Lillie, Clark & McCullough and Evelyn Hoey.


During his years on Broadway, Hundley introduced two songs that went on to become standards, Rodgers and Hart's "With a Song in My Heart" from 1929's "Spring is Here" and Vernon Duke and E.Y. Harburg's "April in Paris" from 1932's "Walk a Little Faster.".


"Polly" (1928), "Heads Up" (1929) and "Spring is Here" (1929) were some of the musicals in which he performed.
