Jenny Jones

Jones established "Jenny's Heroes," a program where during 2008, through The Jenny Jones Foundation, she committed a million dollars of her own money to be given to individuals who use it to improve their communities. In 2009, Jones committed another million dollars for grants to people who submit the best ideas on how they would use the funds to make a difference in others' lives. Thousands of people continue to apply online and Jones reads every application herself, personally selecting the final recipient of each grant.

In 2006, Jenny's cookbook, "Look Good, Feel Great" was published and again, Jenny donated 100% of her profits to breast cancer research at City of Hope.

Jenny's biography, "Jenny Jones: My Story" was published in 1997 with 100% of Jenny's profits going to breast cancer research.

Achieved fame when she won $100,000 in the 1986 Star Search (1983). Her one-woman show, "Girl's Night Out", became more than a hit -- it was group therapy for her women audiences, the same ones now tuning in for more from her afternoon talk show Jenny Jones (1991).

Was a winner on the game show Press Your Luck (1983).

Appeared on Match Game (1973) as a contestant, where she won $5,000.

Won prizes in her appearance on The Price Is Right (1972) game show before she made it in television.

Born in Palestine to parents of Polish descent, Jenny's family emigrated to Canada in 1946.
