James Stosic is a New Zealand professional rugby union player who currently plays for the Taranaki Rugby Union in the Mitre 10 Cup. He was born on 22 September 1981 in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Stosic attended Francis Douglas Memorial College in New Plymouth, where he played rugby for the school's first XV. He then went on to play for the Taranaki Rugby Union, where he made his debut in the 2004 season. Stosic has since gone on to become one of the most successful players in the Mitre 10 Cup, having won the competition three times with Taranaki in 2006, 2009 and 2011. He has also represented the New Zealand Maori All Blacks, and was part of the team that won the Churchill Cup in 2008. Stosic signed for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on 10 November 2008. Since then, he has played in 4 Super League matches for the Wildcats, before injuring his leg during the Wildcats victory over Warrington Wolves in round 4. He was out of action for 12 weeks.
