Graham Lyle is a Scottish singer-songwriter and composer. He is best known for his work with the band Gallagher and Lyle, which he formed with his friend and fellow musician, Benny Gallagher. He has also written and produced songs for a variety of artists, including Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, and Rod Stewart. Lyle was born in Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland, and began playing guitar at the age of 12. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, where he studied classical guitar. After graduating, he joined the band McGuinness Flint, and then formed Gallagher and Lyle with Benny Gallagher in 1971. The duo released several albums and had several hit singles in the UK, including "Heart on My Sleeve" and "I Wanna Stay With You". In the 1980s, Lyle began writing and producing songs for other artists, including Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, and Rod Stewart. He also wrote the theme song for the British television series "The Bill". In the 1990s, he reunited with Gallagher to record a new album, and the duo toured the UK and Europe. Lyle has been married twice and has two children. He currently lives in London.
