Graham Bond was an English musician and singer-songwriter, known as the founder of the Graham Bond Organisation. He was a multi-instrumentalist, playing saxophone, harmonica, piano, and organ. He was also a composer and arranger. Bond was born in Romford, Essex, England, and began playing the saxophone at the age of nine. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and later joined the Royal Air Force. After leaving the RAF, he formed the Graham Bond Quartet, which included Ginger Baker on drums and Jack Bruce on bass. The group released several albums, including The Sound of '65 and There's a Bond Between Us. Bond's solo career began in 1965, when he released his debut album, The Sound of '65. He released several more albums over the next few years, including Holy Magick and We Put Our Magick On You. He also collaborated with other musicians, including Jack Bruce, John McLaughlin, and Alexis Korner. Bond died in 1974, at the age of 36, after falling from a railway bridge in London. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
