George Barris is an American car customizer, designer, and television personality. He is best known for his custom car designs, which have been featured in films, television shows, and music videos. He has also appeared in several television shows, including The Munsters, The Beverly Hillbillies, and The Dukes of Hazzard. Barris was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 20, 1925. He began customizing cars at an early age, and by the time he was a teenager, he had already built several custom cars. He moved to California in the 1940s, where he opened a custom car shop. Barris' most famous custom car is the "Batmobile," which he designed for the 1960s television series Batman. He also designed the "Munster Koach" for the television series The Munsters, and the "General Lee" for The Dukes of Hazzard. Barris has been inducted into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame and the Hollywood Stuntman's Hall of Fame. He has also been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
