He is best known for his roles in films such as The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005), 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days (2007), and The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu (2010). Alexandru began his career in the theater, performing in productions at the National Theatre Bucharest and the Bulandra Theatre. He made his film debut in the 2003 drama The Way I Spent the End of the World. He has since appeared in numerous films, including The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, and The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu.
