Age, Biography and Wiki

George Adamson was an English-born Kenyan wildlife conservationist and author who, along with his wife Joy, achieved international fame as the real-life models for the characters of George and Joy Adamson in the book and film Born Free. Adamson was born in Dholpur, India, in 1906. He was educated in England and served in the British Army during World War II. After the war, he moved to Kenya and began working as a game warden. In 1956, Adamson and his wife Joy began a project to raise and release a lion cub named Elsa, which had been orphaned by hunters. The project was successful, and the Adamsons wrote a book about their experience, Born Free, which was later made into a movie. Adamson continued to work as a game warden and conservationist in Kenya until his death in 1989. He wrote several books about his experiences, including My Pride and Joy and Living Free. He was also the subject of the documentary George Adamson: The Lion Man. Adamson's work in conservation and animal welfare has been recognized by the Kenyan government, which has named a wildlife sanctuary after him. He was also posthumously awarded the Order of the Golden Ark by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.
