Gene Cipriano was a part of the Abnuceals Emuukha Electric Symphony Orchestra around 1967 when Frank Zappa recorded the orchestral parts for Lumby Gravy. Cipriano has played all but three of the Academy Awards Shows since 1959.

1962

Cip is heard playing the memorable flute solo on Hatari! (1962) "Baby Elephant Walk", and soloing on tenor sax for Tony Curtis in Billy Wilder's acclaimed film Some Like It Hot (1959).

1949

When Tex Beneke took over the late Glenn Miller Band one of the musicians was Gene Cipriano, who played saxophone with Tex from June 1949 to October 1950. He also was later in some of Tex's West Coast pick-up groups. Cipriano was long time room mates with trombonist a Dick Nash.
