He was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on May 6, 1998 and invested on April 26, 2000 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. He has left his mark on theatre and the cinema, thanks to the hundreds of costumes and sets he has created and the productions he has directed. He has worked for several theatre companies, including Le Rideau Vert and La Compagnie Jean-Duceppe in Montréal. He is a co-founder and the artistic director of the Centre national De Recherche Et De Diffusion Du costume de Montréal helping to preserve and maintain Canada's largest collection of period costumes. A master in his field, he is unquestionably one of our greatest creators and one of the best costume designers in Canadian theatre and cinema. He is deeply aware of the need for renewal. This is why, after teaching 25 years at the National Theatre School, he is still in demand among various establishments. Having taught today's designers, he now teaches those of tomorrow. (2).
