Donovan Woods is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician from Sarnia, Ontario. He has released five studio albums, two EPs, and a live album. His music has been featured in films, television shows, and commercials. Woods was born in 1980 and grew up in Sarnia, Ontario. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and started writing songs at the age of 15. He attended the University of Western Ontario, where he studied English and philosophy. Woods released his debut album, The Hold Up, in 2006. The album was nominated for a Juno Award for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year. He released his second album, Don't Get Too Grand, in 2009. The album was nominated for a Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. In 2011, Woods released his third album, Hard Settle, Ain't Troubled. The album was nominated for a Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. In 2013, Woods released his fourth album, The Widowmaker. The album was nominated for a Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. In 2016, Woods released his fifth album, They Are Going Away. The album was nominated for a Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. Woods has also released two EPs, The Widowmaker EP (2013) and Soft Day (2015). He has also released a live album, Live at Massey Hall (2017). Woods has been nominated for seven Juno Awards and has won two. He has also been nominated for two Canadian Folk Music Awards.

At the Juno Awards of 2019, Both Ways won the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year. In May 2019 Woods released The Other Way, a companion album to Both Ways which featured more acoustic-based renditions of the prior album's songs. The Other Way included guest vocals from Tenille Townes on "I Ain't Ever Loved No One", which was a duet with Rose Cousins in its original Both Ways version.

2018
