Denni Neufeld is a Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his work with the Juno Award-winning band The Wailin' Jennys. He has released two solo albums, and has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Sarah Harmer, The Duhks, and The Paperboys. Neufeld was born in Steinbach, Manitoba, and grew up in a musical family. He began playing guitar at the age of nine, and soon after began playing the mandolin and banjo. He attended the University of Manitoba, where he studied classical guitar and composition. Neufeld has released two solo albums, "Denni Neufeld" (2006) and "The Great Divide" (2009). He has also collaborated with a variety of artists, including Sarah Harmer, The Duhks, and The Paperboys. Neufeld has won numerous awards, including a Juno Award for Best Roots/Traditional Album for The Wailin' Jennys' album "40 Days" (2005). He has also been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Instrumental Album for his solo album "The Great Divide" (2009). Neufeld currently lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with his wife and two children. He continues to tour and perform with The Wailin' Jennys, as well as with his own solo projects.

1999

Born in Steinbach, Manitoba, Neufeld won a gold medal for Manitoba at the 1999 Canada Games. In 2001 he joined Mike McEwen's team. After a few years of curling on-and-off together, the team of McEwen, Neufeld, brother B. J. Neufeld, and Matt Wozniak was formed in 2007. Neufeld played lead stones for the team, which lasted for 11 years until the end of the 2017-18 curling season, when they disbanded. The following season, Neufeld played second for Team Jason Gunnlaugson. He announced that he would be stepping back from curling at the end of the season.
