Buck Belue is an American former professional football and baseball player. He was born on December 12, 1959 in Americus, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia, where he played both football and baseball. Belue was a quarterback for the Bulldogs football team from 1978 to 1981. He was a three-year starter and led the team to the 1980 National Championship. He was named the MVP of the 1981 Sugar Bowl. Belue was also a pitcher for the Bulldogs baseball team from 1979 to 1981. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 1981 Major League Baseball Draft. Belue was selected in the fourth round of the 1982 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Falcons from 1982 to 1986. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1987. Belue retired from professional football in 1988. He currently works as a radio analyst for the Georgia Bulldogs football team. As of 2021, Buck Belue's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.

He is also the only quarterback to start all four years for the Valdosta Wildcats where he was inducted as a member of the Valdosta High School Hall of Fame in 2007.

Currently, Belue co-hosts (with John Kincade) midday radio show Buck and Kincade on 680 The Fan in Atlanta, Georgia. Belue was also inducted into the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame in 1996.

1984

Belue also lettered in baseball all four years at Georgia. His career batting average at Georgia was .356 and he went on to play three years in the Montreal Expos organization. Belue also played during the 1984 and 1985 seasons at quarterback for the Jacksonville Bulls of the USFL. After the demise of the USFL, Belue spent two years on the football coaching staff at Valdosta State University, serving as an offensive assistant.

Benjamin Franklin "Buck" Belue played American football and baseball at the University of Georgia from 1978 to 1981. He was the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs in 1980, when the team went 12–0, and, after beating Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, was named the consensus national champion. One of the key plays in the 1980 season was a 93-yard touchdown pass from Belue to wide receiver Lindsay Scott that led to a victory over the University of Florida, which was at one time tied with two other passing plays as the longest passing touchdown in Georgia history. This record was later broken by Aaron Murray’s 98-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Davis in Georgia’s victory over North Texas in 2013. Belue was named captain of the 1981 team.
