Bobbi Brown is an American professional makeup artist and entrepreneur. She is the founder and ex-CCO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. Brown has written eight books about makeup and beauty. She has appeared on the Today show and Oprah.
Brown was born on April 14, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she studied theatrical makeup. After college, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in makeup.
In 1991, Brown and a chemist co-created a line of new lipsticks under the brand name Bobbi Brown Essentials. The brand quickly became a success and was eventually sold to Estée Lauder Companies in 1995.
In addition to her makeup line, Brown has written eight books on beauty and makeup, including Bobbi Brown Beauty (1997), Bobbi Brown Living Beauty (2008), and Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual (2011). She has also appeared on the Today show and Oprah.
