Urantungalag is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a bronze medal in the women's individual archery event at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and a silver medal in the same event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She also won a gold medal in the women's team event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Urantungalag has also won numerous medals at the Asian Games, including a gold medal in the women's individual event at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea, and a gold medal in the women's team event at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. Urantungalag is married and has two children. She currently resides in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the women's individual event, but eliminated in the round of 16 by Lee Sung-jin. She competed in the individual recurve event and the team recurve event at the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.
