Band leader on the New York hotel scene of the 1920's and early 30's, who had a massive hit with recordings of his theme song "Bye Bye Blues". Based primarily at the Biltmore, the band at one time featured such jazz luminaries as Adrian Rollini, Chauncey Gray and Miff Mole. Lown himself left the music business for the most part in the mid-30's to concentrate on other interests.
