He was elected to the seat in the 2019 federal election. Morton was educated at the University of Sydney, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2003. He then went on to study law at the University of Western Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws in 2006. Morton worked as a lawyer in Perth before entering politics. He was a senior associate at the law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and was also a partner at the law firm Minter Ellison. Morton is married to his wife, Sarah, and they have two children. Morton is a member of the Liberal Party of Australia and was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2019 federal election. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs and the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade. Morton is a strong advocate for small business and is a vocal supporter of the Liberal Party's economic policies. He is also a strong advocate for the environment and has spoken out against the impacts of climate change.
