Aziz Kaprawi is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Muar since 2008. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) and is currently the Deputy Minister of Rural Development. Kaprawi was born in Muar, Johor, Malaysia on 24 July 1959. He attended the University of Malaya, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Kaprawi began his political career in 1995 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Muar. He was re-elected in 1999, 2004, 2008, 2013 and 2018. He has held various ministerial positions, including Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries, and Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities. Kaprawi is married to Noraini binti Mohd Yusof and they have four children. He is a devout Muslim and is active in various charitable and religious organisations.
