Annie Glenn is an American actress and philanthropist. She is the widow of astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn. She was born Anna Margaret Castor on February 17, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio. She attended Muskingum College and Ohio State University, where she earned a degree in speech pathology. Annie Glenn was married to John Glenn for 73 years, until his death in 2016. She was an advocate for people with communication disorders, and was instrumental in the passage of the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders Act of 1988. She was also a strong advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. Annie Glenn has been honored with numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
