Alys Robi was a Canadian singer, actress, and radio and television personality. She was one of the most popular singers in Quebec during the 1940s and 1950s. She was known for her powerful voice and her ability to sing in both French and English. Alys Robi was born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada on February 3, 1923. She began her career as a singer in the 1930s, performing in local clubs and on the radio. She gained national fame in the 1940s with her hit song "Tico-Tico". She went on to record over 200 songs in both French and English. In the 1950s, Alys Robi began appearing on television and in films. She was the first female host of a television variety show in Canada. She also hosted her own radio show and appeared in several films. Alys Robi was a recipient of the Order of Canada in 1975. She was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1989. She died on April 26, 2011 at the age of 88. Alys Robi had an estimated net worth of $2 million at the time of her death.
