Alice Channer

Channer's work has been shown internationally. Her first museum show in the United States, R o c k f a l l, was at the Aspen Art Museum from 13 February to 31 May 2015, which then traveled to New York as part of a group show organized by the Public Art Fund. Her solo exhibitions include: Soft Shell, Kunstverein Freiburg, Germany, Invertebrates, Out Of Body, The Hepworth Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK (both 2013); and South London Gallery, London (2012). Alice Channer was born in Oxford, UK, in 1977. As a child, her mother handcrafted toys, clothes, bags, curtains and upholstery for the family. Channer has said, "I did not have a father who was an architect, I had a mother who was a seamstress." She graduated in 2006 with a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London, UK, and in 2008 with an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London, UK. She lives and works in London.
