Alain Juppé is a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France from 1995 to 1997. He is a member of the conservative party, the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). He was also the Mayor of Bordeaux from 1995 to 2004 and the President of the Regional Council of Aquitaine from 2004 to 2015. Juppé was born on 15 August 1945 in Mont-de-Marsan, Landes, France. He studied at the Lycée Montaigne in Bordeaux and the École Nationale d'Administration in Paris. He was a civil servant in the Ministry of Finance from 1967 to 1974. Juppé was elected to the National Assembly in 1978 and served as Minister of the Budget from 1986 to 1988. He was appointed Prime Minister of France in 1995 and served until 1997. He was also the Mayor of Bordeaux from 1995 to 2004 and the President of the Regional Council of Aquitaine from 2004 to 2015. Juppé has been a member of the UMP since 2002 and was its president from 2002 to 2004. He was a candidate in the 2017 French presidential election, but was eliminated in the first round. Juppé is married to Isabelle Juppé and has two children. He has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
