A.I. Bezzerides was an American novelist, screenwriter, and actor. He was born on August 9, 1908 in Samsun, Ottoman Empire (now Turkey). He was best known for writing the novel Kiss Me Deadly, which was later adapted into a 1955 film noir of the same name. He also wrote the screenplay for the film. Bezzerides wrote several novels, including Thieves' Market (1949), Long Haul (1951), and The Long Night (1953). He also wrote the screenplay for the film noir On Dangerous Ground (1951). Bezzerides was also an actor, appearing in films such as The Big Sleep (1946), The Big Combo (1955), and The Killing (1956). Bezzerides died on February 8, 2007 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 98. His net worth at the time of his death was estimated to be around $2 million.
